On October first San Francisco will turn into a hot bed of social good when entrepreneurs, investors, and others engaged in the sector convene for the annual Social Capital Markets Conference (SOCAP).

New this year, the  Impact Accelerator @ SOCAP is designed to provide promising social entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect through a shared experience, while giving them access to a series of advanced sessions curated by leaders of the top impact incubators in the country. The weekend is also a first of its kind collaboration between leading impact accelerators and highlights each one’s unique contribution to building the seed-stage impact investing sector. Participating accelerators include The Unreasonable Institute, Echoing Green, HUB Ventures, Greenstart, StartX, GSBI and DASRA, among others.

"Social entrepreneurs have a hard time finding the resources they need, whether it is investment capital, partner organizations, mentors, or the myriad of other aspects that go into launching and running a successful business,” said Evan Steiner, Manager of Special Projects at Hub Bay Area. “SOCAP is fertile ground for providing entrepreneurs with these resources, and this year we have created an experience for them to get the most out of what could otherwise be an overwhelming endeavor given the size of the conference.”

Approximately 80 entrepreneurs from around the world were selected to participate in the weekend, which includes attendance at SOCAP12 the following week. A customizable program focuses on peer collaboration, targeted mentoring and polished presentations. Participants will choose from offerings such as: “Fundraising for Impact Ventures” with HUB Ventures, “Aspects and Challenges of Hyrbid Organizations” from Echoing Green, and “How to build lasting and meaningful relationships at SOCAP” led by The Unreasonable Institute and Village Capital.

In addition to leading accelerators, offerings include sessions hosted by key partners in the space including: “Crowdfunding” with IndieGoGo, “Impact Assessment” by B Corp, and “Hiring Practices” with ReWork. Attending entrepreneurs have been invited to attend Google Entrepreneur Week, which coincides.
