Learn What it Takes to Effectively Measure Community Involvement Impact

Community involvement professionals must be able to develop and execute effective measurement and evaluation processes as a tool for continuous program improvement. Like any other business managers, they need to identify goals and progress that shows a clear return on investment.

The Center for Corporate Citizenship Course Evaluate and Measure Community Involvement examines how to determine, calculate, analyze, and present program outcomes and impacts to measure and demonstrate the business and social value of initiatives. It explores the purpose and value of measurement and evaluation, discusses appropriate tools and techniques, and addresses application of data and evaluation for improvement and decision making.

“As an industrial engineer I was very accustomed to measurement, but not as it relates to community involvement,” said Jerald Barnes, Global Grants Manager, UPS Foundation. “The Center’s measurement course helped me to develop a matrix on the social and business impacts of employee volunteerism. Now it is part of the overall strategy for our signature programs.”
