Established in 1996, the annual award celebrates individuals who acknowledge the important connection between humankind and nature, and is intended to inspire others to make such exceptional behavior the norm. The year's presentation recognized Seventh Generation CEO John Replogle for his efforts to foster a global value shift toward a secure and sustainable world, and help his company fulfill its mandate to become a "restorative enterprise" with a pervasive commitment to resource efficiency, social responsibility, and sustainability.

In accepting the prize at a star-studded ceremony in Santa Monica, California on June 2nd, Replogle spoke on behalf of Seventh Generation's 114 employees.

"We believe that our products set a course for a more mindful way of doing business, where companies act as partners with other stakeholders to create a bright future for the whole planet," he said from the podium. "And we know that creating products that are non-toxic and safe for everyone in your home is no small task -- yet, for us, nothing is more important. Simply put, we believe we can't help people live a healthy life on a sick planet. We are honored and humbled by this award and thank you for recognizing Seventh Generation's legacy."

The award joins a growing list of accolades for North America's pioneering environmental products company, including being named a 2011 Leader for Change by the United Nations and the number one Green Brand in America by the Esty Environmental Partners.
