OSR Graduates 2012

Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI) announced that the Organization Systems Renewal (OSR) program is joining the institute. BGI is in the process of applying as the university accreditation partner for the OSR Master’s degree program. The OSR program has educated leaders to design and guide major northwest organizations for more than 30 years.

“This partnership will create exponential impact on both OSR’s and BGI’s shared mission to change the trajectory of the world by attending to sustainable practices, the triple bottom-line, and shared alignment around the common good at every level of our systems,” stated Bill Koenig, OSR Program Director.

“Our vision is to attract other similarly mission-driven graduate programs for adult professional development that will provide the focus and diverse perspectives to create the social innovations necessary to make the shift to a world that works for all,” said Gifford Pinchot, BGI President. “BGI seeks to continue to attract strong partners, like OSR, to create an innovative, thriving environment to equip social entrepreneurs and organizational leaders with the resources needed to transform business, non-profits, and the public sector.”

The OSR Master’s program is the only one of its kind in the nation. This two-year, cohort-based program provides skill development in the field of Organization Development as a designer and leader of change at an organization and a community level.

Founded in 1979, Organization Systems Renewal is a rigorous Master’s degree program that prepares students to design and lead systemic organizational change. The 22-month OSR program is designed around a nontraditional, closed-cohort learning community that fosters transformational learning through knowledge development, skill building, application, and personal development.

The Bainbridge Graduate Institute was the first school to offer an MBA in Sustainable business. Founded in 2002, BGI offers evening and weekend MBA and Certificate programs that thoroughly integrate environmental and social responsibility into every subject of the traditional core business curriculum. BGI works to help other business schools become more sustainable.

BGI was born when co-Founder and President, Gifford Pinchot, a renowned business consultant, realized the nation's graduate business schools were churning out one-dimensional MBA graduates with solid short-term profit-maximization skills, but lacking a deep understanding of how to integrate social and environmental issues into business decisions.

The Institute's pioneering MBA and certificate programs prepare a diverse group of leaders to build enterprises that are economically successful, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable. The innovative curriculum preserves the rigor of a traditional MBA program, while infusing sustainability - including both environmental and social responsibility - throughout every course.
