Leading up to the 40th anniversary of Canadian Environment Week (June 5-11, 2011), hundreds of PwC staff volunteers will be participating in week-long activities to celebrate the company's fifth annual Green Week, organized by the PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada Foundation.

From Halifax to Vancouver, PwC volunteers will take part in a range of day-long environmental team volunteering events. Today in Toronto, Chris Clark, CEO and Canadian Senior Partner at PwC Canada, will be joined by 50 volunteers and will spend the day beautifying the Bloor Street tree-scape from Christie Street to Lansdowne Avenue. The volunteers will remove litter and plant flowers for GreenHere - a charity that increases green space in Toronto's Davenport neighbourhood.

"The success of our firm's environmental initiatives reflects our employees' growing interest in reducing our firm's carbon footprint, while making a positive impact within the communities that we live and work," says Clark. "Our Green Week activities are a part of our firm's overall commitment to corporate social responsibility."
