Sustainable Life Media announced a first look at the early lineup of speakers for its June 7-10 Sustainable Brands 2011 (SB'11) conference, with executives from Nestle Purina, Owens Corning, Travelocity and Unilever sharing case studies on brand innovation, design thinking in business, new "access" business models and other innovations in making consumption sustainable. Plenary sessions, breakouts, workshops and networking sessions are being designed to give attendees an experiential look at how game thinking and play can help speed the shift to profitable sustainability by informing strategy, improving creativity, facilitating collaboration and supporting behavior change among key brand stakeholders.

Speakers will be sharing successes and failures, providing an understanding of the current culture shift and market drivers; describing creative approaches to reducing toxicity, resource use and end-of-life issues; and techniques for overcoming consumer fatigue and generating new demand for tomorrow's better brands.

A sampling of confirmed speakers includes:

  • Jeffrey Hollender (Chair, Business Leadership Council and American Sustainable Business Council) will share his personal thoughts on the costs and benefits of putting yourself on the line for change.

  • Chris Laszlo (Managing Partner, Sustainable Value Partners) will share insights from his soon-to-be-published book on how sustainability can be embedded into the top strategic frameworks currently in place at today's leading companies.
