/PRNewswire/ - On Friday, December 10, employees of Henkel Consumer Goods Inc., makers of well-known consumer brands in North America, including Dial® soaps, Purex® laundry detergents, Renuzit® air fresheners and Right Guard® antiperspirants, will take part in a company-wide Community Service Day. Approximately 350 employees will volunteer at 16 different charitable organizations across the Valley.
Henkel employees began this tradition of service in 2008 when the company moved to its new headquarters, located at 19001 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, AZ. Since then, the company has continued this tradition and has reserved a day in December for community service. Since 2008, over 2,500 volunteer hours have been logged for this special event. Employees will head in all directions across the Valley to volunteer in various capacities such as wrapping presents, sorting clothes, gardening, aiding animals and cleaning up mountain trails. The day of service provides a way for employees to work together with their colleagues in a meaningful and special way.
"While this day is designed to increase employee interaction within the community, we find that everyone is touched by the success and the power of helping others," said Robert Skoff, Vice President-HR at Henkel. "Having the opportunity to volunteer unites all of us, and we are appreciative that we are able to give back to our community during a season of giving."
Corporate social responsibility is important to Henkel and its employees. Henkel employees in North America are generously volunteering their time and talents to improve the lives of others. Henkel's newly revised corporate values include a commitment to sustainability and improving the quality of life in the communities in which it operates.
