For the fourth consecutive year, UPS (NYSE:UPS) has earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, an annual survey that rates U.S. corporations on their non-discrimination policies and practices toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers.

UPS again is the only company in the Mail and Freight Delivery category to achieve a perfect score and will be recognized on the Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality list, which only includes companies with a 100% rating. In addition, UPS will appear in the HRC annual Buying for Equality guide, which highlights company ratings and offers a buying reference to more than 1 million LGBT consumers.

"UPS is excited the Human Rights Campaign has again honored us for our commitment to diversity," said Amy Whitley, vice president of corporate human resources. "This recognition represents our on-going efforts to ensure an inclusive workplace for all employees and the ability to respond to the varied needs of our diverse customers, suppliers and business partners."

The 2011 Index evaluated 618 companies on a scale from 0 to 100 percent on LGBT-related policies and practices including transgender health benefits and domestic partner benefits. This year, 338 businesses achieved top ratings compared to 305 last year.
