SAN FRANCISCO, Sep. 21 /CSRwire/ - Sustainable Life Media's new Sustainable Brands Seminar Series provides brand and marketing professionals, designers, managers, executives and strategists with a comprehensive study course on sustainability theory along with practical application. In one of the 5 full day sessions, participants will learn how to "Design Communications that Resonate" from best selling author, psychologist and consultant, John Marshall Roberts. He will provide a step-by-step session on the essentials of an empathy-based communication framework first popularized in his bestselling book Igniting Inspiration: A Persuasion Manual for Visionaries.

This course will offer a fresh, scientifically-grounded, common sense approach to empathic communication that is uniquely suited to help solve the communication challenges that sustainable organizations face. Students will learn how to build trust and inspire behavior change, by leveraging the science of worldviews. The worldview lens will provide valuable insights to help improve leadership and communication abilities - especially as relates to inspiring behavior change for socially and environmentally oriented enterprises.

Participants will learn:

  • The 5 customer value-systems or "worldviews" and how to engage each for more effective and empathetic communications

  • The secret link between demographics and psychographics (based upon proprietary Worldview Design research data)

  • The 4 deadly species of cynicism that plague most sustainable businesses, and how to beat them

  • Creative tactics for overcoming the 3 perceptual filters that cynics use to tune important messages out

  • Inspiring real-world stories from forward thinking companies and innovators who have applied this information to create breakthrough results

  • An understanding of their own "communication worldview" and how this influences their understanding of their social world.

Participants will have the option of receiving a personalized "Worldview Insights Report" which details their own specific communication worldview - as measured by the Roberts Worldview Assessment (RWA) tool. The customized report will give students unprecedented insights into their own leadership and communication preferences and provide leadership development opportunities, customized to specific needs. Each learner will also receive a signed copy of Robert's book Igniting Inspiration: A Persuasion Manual for Visionaries.

John Marshall Roberts is a communication expert and applied research psychologist with more than a decade of strategic consulting experience. He is an emerging thought leader for a new generation of socially conscious visionaries who recognize that a fresh, more vital approach to communication is essential to give good ideas leverage in today's changing economy. A well-known consultant within the sustainability movement, Roberts is also CEO of the next-generation psychological insights company Worldview Learning. His work to date has focused largely on overcoming consumer skepticism through strategic communication design, and the application of values-based messaging for inspiring sustainable behaviors. Recent clients and partners include the New Zealand Department of Conservation, Oscar-winning BRC Imagination Arts, the Joseph Campbell Foundation, EcoAlign, Plunkett, Distributed Energy Financial Group (DEFG), JLT Incorporated, Moxie, and Evenson Design Group.

Limited to just 30 attendees for each daily session in all locations, participants will create a close-knit and invaluable network with brand and corporate sustainability executives, including product, brand and supply chain managers and designers; marketing, communications and PR team members; as well as HR or technology professionals.
