Thubten Lekshey Ling, the Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre in Bangalore, is organizing an empowerment ceremony and discourse by Khenpo Katyayana Rinpoche. This will on the 17th of July from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.

As humans we have the rare faculties of rational thinking and introspection. It is possible to develop compassion, loving kindness and many other positive qualities and engage in spiritual path towards perfect awakening by utilizing human intellect. However, life also presents so many uncertainties. It is unpredictable when this life comes to an end. Vajrayana Buddhism recognizes the unique opportunity of human life and its uncertain duration. Vajrayana employs skillful methods of supplementary meditational practices to clear away various obstacles to life so that the practitioners improve the chance of a long and healthy life. One creates conducive environment for the main spiritual practice through these supplementary practices. An empowerment ceremony initiates the disciples into the practice. One can optionally engage in this practice on a daily basis after having received the empowerment.

Khenpo Katyayana Rinpoche is one of the senior Khenpos (abbots) of the ancient tradition of Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. He is also the principal of Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, the largest seat of advanced philosophy learning for Nyingma tradition outside of Tibet. Khen Rinpoche will be conferring a long-life empowerment according to the treasure teaching revealed by Vidyadhara Jatson Nyingpo of the 17th Century Tibet. This treasure teaching originates from Guru Padmasambhava, the great master of Vajrayana Buddhism who took Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th Century and preserved many esoteric teachings in the land of snow.

Following the empowerment ceremony, Khen Rinpoche will also be delivering an introductory discourse on practising Buddha Dharma.

The program is free of charges and open for all. It will be conducted at Ashirvad, St. Marks Road, Bangalore. Those who wish to attend may contact the organisers over email at info@lekshey.org or over phone at 98802-96930.
