Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government Business & Government Club is set to host Joe Sibilia, CEO of CSRwire, who will be spearheading discussions about corporate social responsibility and sustainability in wake of one of the worst economic recessions in history. The speech to be held on Friday, March 5 at 1 p.m., will explore where the corporate social responsibility (CSR) movement is heading and how Sibilia's company, CSRwire "“ the leading newswire for CSR and sustainability news, reports and information "“ is impacting business today.

Key highlights of the discussions include "money versus passion," which is derived from a school of thought that suggests "stealing" intellectual property and business models is "okay" if it seeks to expand the CSR movement, and how some capitalist-minded CEOs are only involved for personal financial gain.

Another focus will take aim at how "change is here"- globally. Stock exchange rule changes, sustainability indexes, new corporate structures, innovative succession agreements and reporting platforms are all beginning to bend toward the ideals implicated within the CSR movement. More and more corporations are dedicating additional resources to CSR-related marketing efforts and implementing cleaner, greener technologies and business practices.

"Harvard students and faculty are uniquely positioned to lead organizations in the future and can really affect positive change," says Joe Sibilia.

The speech will take place on the Harvard Kennedy School campus, M-RCBG Conference Room, 5th Floor Belfer Building, from 1 p.m. "“ 2:30 p.m. This is a Brown Bag Lunch event "“ some snacks and beverages will be provided.
