The World Economic Forum has selected Liz Maw, Net Impact's Executive Director, as a 2010 Young Global Leader (YGL). The distinction, bestowed upon 200 of the world's leaders under the age of 40, recognizes them for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society, and potential to shape the future of the world.

Since joining Net Impact as Executive Director in 2004, Liz has dedicated herself towards inspiring, educating, and equipping a network of more than 15,000 professionals and students to leverage business skills to solve the world's most pressing social and environmental challenges. Today, Net Impact includes more than 250 chapters around the globe, hosts the leading conference on sustainable business for professionals and students, and runs a variety of programs to equip its members to make change in their workplaces, campuses, and communities.

"I am honored and humbled to be selected as a Young Global Leader," said Liz Maw. "A more sustainable world cannot exist without a network of people dedicated to using business to create social and environmental change. It is the work of our staff, chapter leaders, and thousands of Net Impact members that is truly shaping the future of this world, and this honor recognizes their achievements as well."

Liz shares this honor with 197 leaders from 72 countries, including leaders such as Jon Favreau, Director Speechwriting for the Office of the President of the United States; Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Product and User Experience at Google, Inc.; and Evan Williams, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Twitter, among others.

The recipients were selected from a pool of nearly 5,000 candidates by a committee chaired by H.M. Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Other committee members included eminent media leaders such as Arthur Sulzberger, Chairman and Publisher of the New York Times; Robert Thomson, Editor-in-Chief of the Dow Jones Company and Managing Editor of the Wall Street Journal; and Steve Forbes, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes Media.
