Nalco Named to Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for Second Time

Nalco (NYSE:NLC), providing essential expertise for water, energy and air, has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for a second consecutive year.

Nalco's 3D TRASAR(r) technology for cooling water saved nearly 63 billion gallons (238 million cubic meters) of water in 2008 and was recognized with a U.S. Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award. PARETO(tm) Technology for Wet-End Optimization saved papermakers 460 billion Btus of energy, eliminating more than 30,000 tons of CO2 emissions last year.
