New York, NY - July 15, 2009 - Sundance Channel will air the U.S. Television premiere of Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home on Tuesday, July 21st at 10:00pm et/pt. The documentary airs as part of The GREEN, the network's weekly primetime destination devoted to environmental programming.

How much garbage does an average family create, and what is its impact on the environment? This lively documentary goes straight to the heart of the matter as Director Andrew Nisker persuades a Toronto family of five, the McDonalds, to stockpile every scrap of garbage they create for three months. While bags accumulate in the McDonald garage, Garbage! sorts their trash and follows its path into the world. It's an odyssey that encompasses not only a recycling plant in Canada but also a Michigan township, the mountains of Appalachia, and even the human body.

This award winning documentary has been screened around the world, translated into four different languages and has built an online community of over 4000 people at www.garbagerevolution.com.

Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home was executive produced by Navin Khanna and Yvonne Welbon and produced by Alison Duke (Raisin' Kane), Leonard Pearl (Birthright) and Andrew Nisker. Garbage! is distributed by Take Action Films using a unique Web 2.0 distribution model designed to nurture and support a global grassroots movement aimed at curbing household waste.
