New York, New York "“ June 11, 2009 "“ The YMCA of Greater New York hosted the 35th Annual YMCA Dodge Award Dinner on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Cipriani 42nd Street. The Dodge Award is presented annually by the YMCA of Greater New York to outstanding individuals, who epitomize the 157-year-old tradition of humanitarian service represented by generations of the Dodge family.

, Managing Director, Wolfensohn & Co. LLP was honored at this year’s event and was presented the award by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The event raised more than $1 million to support the YMCA’s wide-range programs for youth and teens. The dinner theme was "Changing the World One Kid at a Time."

"We are thrilled to honor Ms. Diana Taylor for her contribution to the board of the YMCA of Greater New York over the past five years," said Jack Lund, CEO of the YMCA of Greater New York. "Diana is an outstanding leader in the New York City, she truly epitomizes the spirit of humanitarianism."

Bebe Neuwirth, Tony and Emmy Award Winning triple threat, served as a charming and entertaining Mistress of Ceremonies and Darlene Love, star of Broadway’s Hairspray performed a rousing rendition of "I Know Where I’ve Been" from the musical.

The program was highlighted by a powerful introduction of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg by Teen Mayor, Sebastian Barbera, of the YMCA of Greater New York’s Teens Take the City program. Mayor Bloomberg applauded Barbera’s commitment to the program and interest in politics.

Other notables in attendance included event co-chairs NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and Veronica Kelly; YMCA chair Janice Reals Ellig, co-CEO of Chadick Ellig; television personality Consuelo Mack. Past honorees include Robert H. Silver, founder of The Bravitas Group (2006); Seth Waugh, CEO of Deutsche Bank Americas (2007); and Barry Salzberg, CEO of Deloitte LLP; and many other prominent New York philanthropists and business leaders.
