SAN FRANCISCO - May 20, 2009 - Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) and Fortune Magazine's Custom Publishing division have partnered on a special advertising section focused on how Fortune 1000 companies can deliver business value by thinking big and embracing long-term sustainability strategies. The custom story will appear in Fortune's August 17 issue, reaching a national audience of 4 million readers; it will also be distributed to approximately 1,500 attendees at the BSR Conference 2009, taking place October 20 to 23 in San Francisco.

With the global recession raging, climate change accelerating, and trust in big business shakier than ever, it's a crucial time for businesses to leverage innovative sustainability strategies to deliver business value today, and position themselves to successfully meet the greater challenges ahead. This new section will offer a road map for how companies can create value for shareholders and society-and succeed in the face of an unstable economy-by implementing sustainability strategies.
