Albertson's Food & Drug stores have come to the aid of the Los Alamos community, in response to emergency needs as a threatening forest fire approaches the city and citizens evacuate their homes, taking shelter in the Santa Fe community. With the combined effort of the Albertson's Southwest Retail Division and the Tolleson Distribution Center in the Phoenix area, needed emergency supplies are being delivered to the Albertson's food & drug store, located at 199 Paseo De Peralta, in Santa Fe.

In response to specific needs, a truckload of Albertson's drinking water and a truckload of Arrowhead water will arrive at the store for pick up by the City of Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, the Santa Fe County Fire Department, the U. S. Forest Service, Food Depot food bank, and other agencies assisting the evacuees. In addition, a pallet of dog food and a pallet of cat food will be provided for the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and the Espanola Animal Shelter. Local vendors are providing cases of fruit, also requested by agencies responding to the crisis.

"Albertson's has a history of helping the communities that we live and work in when they are hit by disaster," said John Perea, Albertson's Store Director. "We are pleased to be able to assist in any way we can in meeting the needs of the Santa Fe and Los Alamos communities." The Paseo De Peralta store is one of three Albertson's serving the Santa Fe Community.
