More than 60 Delta Air Lines’ employees will partner with Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity tomorrow to help revitalize Savannah’s East Side by building the first four new homes of the Park Place subdivision.

"Delta is committed to building a stronger future with the communities we serve," said Mark Drusch, Delta’s senior vice president - network management. "We recognize that sometimes it takes more than an airplane to help lift someone off the ground."

"Delta is the first airline and largest corporate team to work on a Savannah Habitat home," said Diane Cantor, executive director of the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity. "Delta’s contributions, both financial and physical, are helping us reach our goal of changing the face of Savannah one house at a time."

Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry whose mission is to eliminate poverty by building homes in partnership with volunteers and low-income families. Habitat has built more than 53 homes in Chatham county and hopes to complete 12 more in the next year.

Delta has served Savannah since 1941. Today, Delta and Delta Connection carriers operate 16 daily flights from Savannah International Airport.
