BUFFALO - KeyBank Western New York District President Marsha Henderson is one of 47 top "Women of Initiative," according to international publication, Profiles in Diversity Journal. Henderson currently appears in a four-page leadership pictorial in the magazine's third annual women's leadership issue, "Women Worth Watching". Within its pages, she advises women of the world who aspire to become tomorrow's leaders.

The magazine's publisher, James Rector, says the issue takes a unique approach to celebrating the accomplishments of women in business, government, education, and the military who have distinguished themselves in their careers or chosen fields.

"These are not your standard CEO types," says Rector. "We're sharing lessons learned from women in all walks of life who have advanced their careers to the highest levels. Essays provided by our women of initiative are the heart and soul of this issue, as they share personal experiences and advise on strategies for overcoming obstacles to advancement."

Henderson currently oversees four counties with 41 Key Centers (branches) and approximately 1,000 employees. Her career in financial services includes sales and management positions in commercial lending, human resources, trust and private banking. Among her extensive civic involvement, Henderson chairs the Buffalo Niagara Partnership.

Timothy King, CEO of KeyBank N.A., says the international focus on Henderson's leadership is well deserved. "Marsha has an extraordinary ability to bring out the best in others by communicating a clear vision and mind-set for achieving superior, mutually beneficial results in community and business settings," says King. "Her influence goes far beyond New York.

"As a role model for employees across Key, Marsha - and the attention she's received - really underscores our value for advancement of women in the workplace as an employer of choice and in recognizing and serving the increasingly distinct financial needs of women consumers and business owners."
