"We are honored to be in the presence of many other socially responsible global leaders in the FTSE4Good indices," said Sandra Taylor, senior vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility for Starbucks. "Starbucks has integrated corporate social responsibility throughout our business model and we regard these efforts as integral to our continued success."
Starbucks has been named a component of four indices, including FTSE4Good Global 100 Index, FTSE4Good U.S. 100 Index, FTSE4Good U.S. Benchmark Index and FTSE4Good Global Benchmark Index.
Created and managed by FTSE Group, the independent global index company, the FTSE4Good Index Series is a group of real-time indices designed to reflect the performance of socially responsible equities. It covers four markets: United Kingdom, Europe, the United States and Global. Four tradable and four benchmark indices make up the FTSE4Good index series. A committee of independent practitioners in socially responsible investment (SRI) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) review the indices to ensure that they are an accurate reflection of current CSR best practice. FTSE Group contributes income, including license fees for FTSE4Good, to UNICEF, the global charity.
"Being a member of the FTSE4Good Index Series sends a powerful message to investors and other stakeholders about Starbucks commitment to responsible business practice," said Jayn Harding, head of Corporate Social Responsibility, FTSE Group.
