20 Years Without a Lost Time Accident

Jun. 23 /CSRwire/ - Employees of Texaco's Hatter's Pond facility celebrated a significant safety milestone today by completing 20 years without a single lost time accident. This achievement represents over 1.4 million man-hours of operation with no accidents requiring an employee to miss regularly scheduled work.

Commenting on the achievement, Jim R. Williams, Vice-President of Texaco's Gulf Coast Producing Operations Business Unit, said, "Safety is our highest priority and a core value for Texaco and we congratulate all Hatter's Pond employees on this world-class achievement. This safety milestone signifies our company's most significant priority, safety for our employees and the communities in which we operate."

Hatter's Pond, located 20 miles north of Mobile, began operations with the successful test of the Peter Klein 3-14 #1 discovery well on Christmas Day 1974. Texaco has operated the Hatter's Pond facility since 1984 following Texaco's acquisition of Getty Oil Company. The natural gas plant facility employs 33 people and processes 60 million cubic feet of natural gas and over 9,000 barrels of natural gas liquids per day. Additionally, Texaco operates The Hatter's Pond Field producing operations comprised of 18 wells in the 11,000 plus acre unit.

James L. Kirk, Operations Supervisor for the Hatter's Pond plant, said, "This accomplishment is a tribute to the employees who have worked at Hatter's Pond over the last 20 years."

Richard Madden, the facility's Safety Committee Chairman, added, "While the company has made the commitment to safety and the resources available to us, it is the dedication, professionalism and involvement of our team over the years that has enabled us to reach this lofty goal."

Employees, family, business, civic and political leaders commemorated the event with a celebration at the facility today.
