The annual event was held at Champion Lakes Golf Club near Ligonier, where more than

Rubin “Hurricane” Carter.
The five charities named as beneficiaries of the 2000 tournament are INROADS, a
national organization that develops and places talented minority youth in business and industry; NEED, a Pittsburgh-based program that provides financial assistance and education counseling
to talented young African-Americans who want to attend college or a career school;
IMPACT, a program developed by the University of Pittsburgh’s Engineering School to
support minority education; The Kingsley Association, an organization that provides a broad
range of social services to families and inner-city youth in Pittsburgh; and Erie’s Cathedral Preparatory School, the high school attended by R. Craig Allison, which will use the donation
to start a minority scholarship fund.

Pittsburgh Steelers L.C. Greenwood and Steve Avery; Sports Announcers Myron Cope and Bill Hillgrove; Pittsburgh Panther coach Curtis Bray; former Pittsburgh Pirates Elroy Face, Dick Groat, Rick Reuschel, Doug Frobel and Frank Thomas; WPGH Fox 53 News Anchor, Jay Harris, and Meteorologist, Matt Morano; and Duquesne Men’s Basketball coach, Darelle Porter.
