What: Company to Participate in Hands on Atlanta Day, Nation's Largest Annual Volunteer Serve-A-Thon

When: Saturday, October 7, 2000 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Hands on Atlanta Day, the nation's largest Serve-A-Thon, will bring together more than 14,000 volunteers determined to help strengthen the Atlanta community. Volunteers from throughout the metro area will participate in more than 200 community service projects; from beautifying local parks and preparing meals for the homeless to painting and renovating schools. The event is part of a national service movement, which seeks to be a model for innovative community service.

Organized by the S1 Service Committee, a team of S1 employees and their families will work at a local school, painting murals, assisting with light construction projects, organizing books and landscaping. After completing the service project, all volunteers will gather at Centennial Olympic Park to enjoy refreshments, live entertainment, games and more, in celebration of a hard day's work.
