LAKE SUCCESS, NEW YORK - Whether or not vacation plans place a national park on the travel agenda, picturesque postcard greetings from Yellowstone National Park, the world's first and most famous national park, can be delivered free by email at any time of the year. Yellowstone e-postcards, which can be selected, written and sent from a computer with the click of a mouse, feature a selection of nature scenes that change periodically to reflect the seasons and are captured with Canon film and digital cameras.

Send a Yellowstone Postcard is made possible by Canon and can be found at www.ypf.org, the web site of the Yellowstone Park Foundation. Citizens concerned about preserving the park's habitat worked with the National Park Service to create the Foundation in 1996 to protect, preserve and enhance Yellowstone National Park.

The Yellowstone Park Foundation works to fund important projects and programs, many of which are beyond the financial capacity of the National Park Service. The Yellowstone Park Foundation does not receive annual government funding. It relies on the support of private citizens, foundations and corporations to ensure that Yellowstone's great gifts to the world will never diminish. Since its inception, the Yellowstone Park Foundation has successfully funded more than 85 projects in Yellowstone.

To send a Yellowstone e-postcard, click on "send a postcard" on the left navigation section of the Yellowstone Park Foundation web site home page. Senders can select from several images that showcase the wildlife and natural wonders of the park. Messages can be previewed before a quick tap of the mouse electronically delivers the Yellowstone e-postcards.

Send a Yellowstone Postcard is the latest collaboration between Canon and Yellowstone National Park through the Yellowstone Park Foundation. Canon's support of this new feature will help attract new and repeat visitors to the Foundation's web site and allow the organization to share information about its programs with a growing audience.

Other projects supported through an educational and research program (Eyes on Yellowstone is made possible by Canon) assist with important scientific research and break new ground in conservation, endangered species protection and the application of cutting-edge science and technology that is essential to managing park wildlife and ecosystems.

Canon technology also is used for education to increase public access to the wonder and magic of one of the most recognizable and popular parks in the world (www.windowsintowonderland.org) and to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection and conservation.
