Submitted by Solpower Corporation

Solpower Corporation (OTC BB: SLPW) - an environmental solutions company and manufacturer of Soltron(TM), the first enzyme based emissions control technology for liquid fossil fuels, announce that the SCANA Transportation District of Columbia, South Carolina recently achieved a 14% reduction in fuel consumption after completing a fleet-wide test on their public buses using Soltron(TM).

A recent study on the adverse health effects of diesel soot on children inside school buses was given national attention in the media. Pressure to clean up public buses throughout the country is mounting and Soltron(TM) offers municipalities and school districts a fast, cost-effective method to reduce toxic exhaust emissions from buses.

Headquartered in Columbia, SC, SCANA Corporation is an $8 billion Fortune 500 energy-based holding company whose businesses include regulated electric and natural gas utility operations, telecommunications and other non-regulated energy-related businesses. SCANA is the parent of South Carolina Electric & Gas, the first U.S. public utility to use Soltron(TM) in their diesel-fueled, power generators. In a recent test of Soltron(TM), South Carolina Electric & Gas lowered sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions by more than 35%.

Jim Hirst, CEO of Solpower Corporation stated, "In the last six months, Solpower has made breakthrough sales of Soltron(TM) into rail, power, and now municipal bus fleets. By the second quarter of 2002, we anticipate having fully-stocked, warehouse distributors in at least thirty states. This will give Solpower the regional and local support needed to take advantage of our success in these new markets."
