CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College encourages companies to become early adopters of social reporting in the seminar:

Transparency, Stakeholder Engagement, and Social Reporting
December 10-11 San Francisco, CA

In today's environment, when transparency has become a particularly hot topic, there is a move afoot to dramatically increase social and environmental reporting. With more than half of Fortune 1000 companies issuing corporate social responsibility reports, many analysts suggest that these voluntary reports may soon be required in many regions by laws or regulations.

The course, which was developed and is taught by Kevin Sweeney, gives a comprehensive overview of transparency in a business context, including making the decision to report, reporting strategies, and measuring the effectiveness of a report. Sweeney, a former executive at Patagonia, consultant to such brands as Chiquita and Nike, and developer of environmental policy for the Clinton administration, brings with him a wealth of unique, experiential perspectives that help frame this issue.

Designed with the end goals of the company in mind, the course looks at the ways in which social reporting can inspire workers to join their employer's efforts and enhance an organization's reputation within the community. Because of its content, this course is particularly well-suited to senior-level managers with decision making power regarding transparency, social reporting and stakeholder engagement.

"Transparency, Stakeholder Engagement, and Social Reporting" is one of 14 programs offered by The Center as part of its executive education program.
