As is customary, Better World is giving the newlyweds a wedding present. Any couple married between February 12th through the end of June, 2004, can fax or send Better World a copy of their marriage license and Better World will give them $30.00 off a Premium Plus membership. The happy couple (and any other driving members of the new family) will receive all of Better World’s nationwide roadside assistance services and unique benefits for $64.95, thirty dollars off the regular price of $94.95.
“And, Better World doesn’t discriminate: different sex couples married during the same time period will receive the same wedding present. Yes, we’re including June brides…grooms…whatever.” says Mitch Rofsky, Better World Club President.
Until Better World, same-sex couples had an unattractive choice to make when signing up for the kind of roadside assistance clubs used by millions of Americans: either pretend that they were a heterosexual couple-usually by not spelling out the last name of one of the partners or pay for an additional primary membership (which costs more than an additional person on a primary membership). Virtually from its inception, Better World enabled same-sex couples to obtain roadside assistance and acknowledge that they are domestic partners, use their actual names, and sign up for one membership at the reduced prices available to all households.
