Danisco Involves Stakeholders In External Assurance

Danisco, the leading sugar and food ingredients company, has recently published its third Sustainability report covering its activities in the more than 40 countries where it is represented. As a first, Danisco asked its verifiers to use the new AA1000 Assurance Standard when assessing the company's social and sustainability processes. The benefit of this approach is that stakeholder views are included in the assurance process. csrnetwork, the external verifiers of the report, interviewed representatives from a range of Danisco's stakeholder groups to discuss issues of relevance to Danisco as well as conducting site visits, interviews with senior staff and document reviews. Their statement provides an opinion on Danisco's reporting and management processes against the principles of ’materiality, completeness and reponsiveness’ as described in the Standard.
