LOS ANGELES, CA - Bentley Prince Street is the first company this year to certify their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory with the California Climate Action Registry, thus earning the title of Climate Action Leader(TM) of 2004. Bentley Prince Street joined the Registry as a Charter Member in 2002, and is now publicly reporting their certified GHG emissions for 2002 and 2003 through the Registry's website at www.climateregistry.org. Bentley Prince Street's new status as a Climate Action Leader is the latest achievement in the company's exemplary environmental commitment that includes reducing the emissions which lead to global warming.

The Registry's voluntary program boasts over 40 members representing a wide range of California's large and small businesses, government agencies and national environmental organizations. All Registry members are required to report GHG emissions in California, and may also include emissions from operations outside of the state.

The reported emissions undergo third-party certification, which contributes to the standardization, credibility and transparency of the reporting program. Maintaining an exceptional level of data integrity, the Registry's guidelines are considered the gold-standard for GHG accounting.

By purchasing Cool Carpet(TM), customers are offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions of the product and its lifecycle. All GHG emission reductions from the company's projects are validated by the Climate Neutral Network.

Bentley Prince Street is also the world's first commercial carpet maker to use solar power to manufacture carpet. They have one of the largest privately-owned photovoltaic arrays in the country installed at their City of Industry plant. With the purchase of electricity from renewable sources, Bentley Prince Street is offsetting the GHG emissions from all of their electricity use.
