BOULDER, CO - We are enjoying the exuberant energy of more than 120 volunteers working on our Sustainable Resources 2003 conference. We have over 140 presenters scheduled. Early registrations are approaching 600 and growing quickly. We already have over 150 exhibitors. Along with Boulder's mayor, the EPA's Deputy for International Affairs, and over 100 grass-roots people from developing countries; we've received messages of planned attendance from delegations including a 4-time prime minister of Nepal, the northern forestry minister of China, the Nepalese General Secretary Of Environment Protection, an executive governor from Nigeria and many African officials. A significant number of NGO's in the United States are sending representatives to offer their experience and learn about what's working and what's not from those in developing nations. We are blending the Scientific Community of Engineers Without Borders and the University of Colorado with the wisdom traditions of Naropa University and the lessons of compassion in action - we are bringing these previously divergent "views" close enough together to actually meet and engage in conversation with one another. Some might consider this a radical approach, we see it as essential to arriving at carefully considered solutions the challenge of sustainable development.
