International Child Advocacy Group Seeks Award Nominations Worldwide

$100,000 each to be awarded by Kellogg's and Cardinal Health

Jan. 27 /CSRwire/ - COLUMBUS, OH - World of Children Inc. announced today it is seeking worldwide nominations for its seventh annual Hannah Neil World of Children Awards, the world's first and most prestigious global award program promoting child advocacy.

The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. EST, Monday, April 26, 2004. Nominations can be made online at www.WorldofChildren.org, where complete award guidelines and nomination criteria can also be found.

Through three distinct awards, World of Children, Kellogg's and Cardinal Health hope to bring honor and international acclaim to outstanding children's advocates and the work that they do, and to help raise public awareness about the issues affecting the world's children. The three awards are:

  • $100,000 Kellogg's Child Development Award, underwritten by founding sponsor Kellogg Company, acknowledges an individual who has made a significant lifetime contribution to improving children's opportunities to learn and grow;

  • $100,000 Cardinal Health Children's Care Award, underwritten by Cardinal Health, recognizes an individual who has made a significant lifetime contribution to the health and well-being of children;

  • $15,000 Founder's Award, underwritten by donations to World of Children Inc., recognizes a young person who has made an extraordinary contribution to children.

    Honorary co-chairmen of the awards are Muhammad Ali, UN Messenger for Peace and former world heavyweight boxing champion, and 14-year-old Gregory Smith, founder of International Youth Advocates who was twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. ABC News anchor Leon Harris serves as emcee for the awards ceremony, to be held November 18, 2004 in Columbus, Ohio.
