SILVER SPRING, MD. - OPTIMUS Corporation, a leader in public safety technology, today announced that it has been selected as a winner of the 2003 National Capital Business Ethics Awards, presented by the Greater Washington and Northern Virginia Chapters of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, in partnership with George Mason University. OPTIMUS President and CEO, Eric Adolphe, received the prestigious award at the Annual Gala Awards Dinner held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia last night, before a gathering of more than 300 attendees. The awards recognize businesses outside of the financial services industry which exemplify a strong commitment to business excellence and to the highest standards of civic and social responsibility, integrity and ethical conduct.

"As an organization that has built a business around an unyielding commitment to ethics, OPTIMUS Corporation is extremely honored to receive the National Capital Business Ethics Award," according to Eric Adolphe, President and CEO, OPTIMUS Corporation. "OPTIMUS makes ethics an important part of everything we do - firmly ingrained in our hiring practices, corporate culture, community programs, business decisions and consistent communication of our value-driven beliefs. I'd also like to commend the Society of Financial Service Professionals - and in particular, the Greater Washington and Northern Virginia Chapters - for implementing this important awards program."

OPTIMUS Corporation, nominated by Foster, Soltoff & Love, received the honor for the small business category, and was one of 50 total nominees. The 2003 winners were selected by a highly respected panel of independent judges, including two former Presidents and CEO's of major corporations, a former director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, and a local ethics professor and newspaper publisher.

OPTIMUS' receipt of the 2003 National Capital Ethics Awards is one of several prestigious awards and recognitions bestowed upon the firm this year. OPTIMUS was also recognized recently as a finalist for the "Small Contractor of the Year" for the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards, sponsored by the Northern Virginia Government Contractors Council of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Services Council and Washington Technology. Winners of this award will be announced in a special ceremony tonight.
