Business and Human Rights in Practice is an established course that helps to develop corporate capacity to implement human rights commitments. It is a hands-on practitioners course comprising of a 3 hour on-line module, a 2.5 day intensive workshop (13-15th October) and a workplace project followed by a learning review (1 December).
Particpants learn to:

  • Articulate what human rights are and make the 'business case' for human rights
  • Diagnose the human rights implications of business operations and the riks present through operating in particular countries
  • Identify how business responsibilities for human rights can be operationalised through; policies, management systems and monitoring/ reporting, and action related to specific situations, threats or human rights.
  • Use a range of tools and techniques to effect organisational learning and change.

    Past participants have ranged from junior members of CSR teams to Directors of Public Policy, from British Airways, Barclays, The Cooperative Bank, ABB, Cadbury Scwepps, Shell, BP, GlaxoSmithKline, NGTransco, RWEThamesWater and PricewaterhouseCoopers amongst others.

    The intensive workshop is held at the Kairos Centre on the edge of Richmond Park, West London. Cost including the on-line module, intensive workshop, support during the project and the learning review is £1275 (accommodation excluded).
