Dubai, UAE - A website to facilitate online registration as well as establishing a case for Corporate Social Responsibility in today’s corporate world, has been launched by the Middle East Corporation Social Responsibility Summit (CSR) – the first of its kind to be held in the region.

The website – www.iirme.com/csr will provide an update on the conference, outline the list of eminent speakers, the agenda of the event, as well as topics that will be addressed at the Summit.

The Summit, under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defense Minister, is to be held in Dubai on 25-26 April 2004. The event will focus on the growing importance of sustainable development to both businesses and communities in the Middle East.

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, External Affairs Manager, Shell Markets Middle East said: “CSR has become a core issue for many businesses globally, and is increasing in importance in the Middle East as well. This is underlined by the fact that the Summit has not only attracted a panel of well-known speakers who will address a spectrum of CSR-related issues, but has generated a high level of interest amongst regional companies, government bodies, NGOs and the community as well.”

The Summit is being organized by IIR in association with Shell and is supported by Dubai Development and Investment Authority (DDIA) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
