Murray's was awarded the certification following a rigorous on-site inspection by HFAC veterinarians and animal scientists. HFAC guidelines stipulate animals must receive a nutritious diet, free from antibiotics or hormones and must have adequate shelter, resting areas and space sufficient to support natural behavior. Murray's is also the first poultry processor in America to utilize Electric Aquagenics Unlimited's Electrolyzed Oxidative Water (EAU) technology to disinfect, sanitize and clean surfaces and foods, without the chlorine toxicity to the consumer and the environment. EAU fluids interact in a superior way with the pathogens that can be present in poultry processing, and are almost 100% effective in killing e-coli and Salmonella. The EAU process has also been shown to improve shelf life up to 5 to 7 days.
