ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - CVI Laser, LLC today made a donation of $5,000 to the general fund of St. Martin's Hospitality Center. The donation came from CVI corporate funds and employee donations. This week the employees of CVI hosted a series of events to raise money for St. Martin's. These events included a chili cook-off, crazy hat contest, bake sale, BBQ, and several raffles with prizes donated by employees, local and national companies. Donations by local and national companies include: Southwest Airlines, UPS, Liberty Mutual, Fourhills UA Movies, Fisher Safety, Sparkle Maintenance, Isotopes, Classic Travel, Albuquerque Little Theater, Paa-ko Ridge Golf Course, NM Museum of Natural History, Laffs Comedy Club, The Artichoke Cafe, Blockbuster Video, Dion's Pizza, Octopus Car Wash, Sandia Peak Tramway, Betty's Bath and Day Spa, Cinemark Movies 8, NM Federal CU, and Manpower.

"We are excited and very pleased that we have been able to raise $5,000 for St. Martin's Hospitality Center," said Human Resource Manager Gail Heflick.

Serving as head chef at the BBQ, CVI CEO Stuart Schoenmann stated, "Ever since joining CVI in November of 2003, I have been impressed with the generosity of our employees and their devotion to helping their New Mexico communities. The St. Martin's organization really reaches out to the community in the broadest sense. We are very proud to be able to make this donation to St. Martin's."

Lee Pattison, executive director of St. Martin's, came to the CVI Fun'd Raising BBQ and spoke. "Everyone is just one catastrophe away from homelessness. All the money you have raised this week will go directly to services not administration."
