FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2004--Once again, Courion(R) Corporation hosted its annual charity auction to benefit local charities during the holiday season. This, the company's fourth annual charity auction, was the culmination of a series of charity auctions it held this year and was its most successful yet, bringing in over $11,000. In the past four years Courion has raised more than $38,000 through these auctions. As always 100 percent of the auction proceeds benefit the selected charities. This year Courion employees chose to donate the proceeds to The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care (http://www.camneelyfoundation.org/) and The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism (http://www.dougflutiejrfoundation.org/).

Dubbed its "Season of Giving" program, Courion has been hosting charity auctions throughout the year to benefit these two local charities. Employees bid on items ranging from a baseball autographed by World Series Champion and Red Sox Pitcher Keith Foulke, to Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots tickets to a weekend Hummer rental to eight hours of handyman services dubbed "Rent a Handy Man" from Courion's own Howard Chorney. Incidentally, Chorney provided his professional auctioneering skills for the event again this year.

"Everyone in the company looks forward to this event each year, so we decided to expand in 2004 to an effort we called our 'Season of Giving,' which simply means not waiting for December to host auctions and donate the proceeds," said Chris Zannetos, president and CEO, Courion. "It's our fun way of giving back to our communities and we hope the energy is contagious."
