PORTLAND, OR - Representatives of workplace giving organizations from across the nation will gather in Portland June 16-19 for the National Alliance for Choice in Giving's (NACG) 2005 summer conference "Portland 20:20 Vision." The site is the Embassy Suites Hotel - Downtown. NACG member federations and funds raise more than $100 million from employees annually on behalf of nearly 3,000 non-profit organizations.

"We want to identify the forces that will shape the workplace giving campaigns of 2020 so our members can start taking steps today to secure their long-term viability and relevance," said Matt Howe, NACG executive director. "We can't predict the future, but if we're aware of the trends and if we know the kind of future that we want to see, we can have a real impact on where this field is headed."

NACG has engaged Glen Hiemstra, one of the leading futurists in the country; Charles Maclean, a pioneering researcher in philanthropy and donor behavior; and workplace giving experts Deb Furry and Steve Greenhalgh to guide the two-day investigation.

Understanding the primary drivers of change in the workplace giving field will be the focus of the first day of the two-day conference. The second day will concentrate on tangible "first wins" that organizations can realize on their way to transforming their organizations for success in 2020.

An opening Philanthropy & Technology Fair on June 16th will set the stage for the conference. All registered conference participants may exhibit their philanthropic technology solutions free of charge at the 6pm to 9pm event. In addition, NACG has issued a Request for Presentations to leading technology experts to deliver brief presentations during this event on how technology will influence the future of philanthropy and workplace giving. The RFP can be obtained through the NACG office.

On the evening of June 17th, NACG will hold its annual Awards Dinner to honor local and national achievement in the workplace giving field.

NACG's membership includes dozens of local social justice, health, and environmental federations along with national federations and funds such as America's Charities, American Red Cross, Community Shares USA, Earth Share, Global Impact, National Black United Fund, and Neighbor to Nation. For the past 18 years, NACG has served as a voice for charitable choice in the workplace, a training ground for workplace giving leaders, and a proponent for efficiency and high standards of conduct for practitioners.
