SANTA MONICA, CA - Ethos Water, the premium bottled water that helps children around the world get clean water, has taken fast action to bring clean water to communities affected by the Southeast Asia tsunami.

Alongside an estimated 150,000 deaths from the tsunami itself, the World Health Organization has estimated that an equal number of people could die from dehydration and communicable diseases spread by unclean water. Governments and aid organizations are scrambling to alleviate the situation and provide clean water to the survivors.

Ethos Water (www.ethoswater.com), a socially responsible business that donates 50 percent of its profits to bring clean water to children around the world, moved quickly to respond to the catastrophe in Southeast Asia. The company conducted a special production run in its bottling facility and donated the entire output -- 1000 cases of product, 24,000 bottles -- to Operation USA (www.opusa.org), a privately funded international relief organization that provides aid and assistance to disaster-stricken regions of the world.

This water will be distributed to survivors in Indonesia and Sri Lanka via Operation USA, which is providing extensive humanitarian supplies to the recovery effort. This water was shipped from Ethos' plant to the Operation USA warehouse in Wilmington, CA and will be sent via air and sea to Southeast Asia later this month.

"Our mission is about clean water and we wanted to bring clean water to those who have suffered as a result of this tragedy," said Jonathan Greenblatt, co-founder of the company. Peter Thum, Ethos co-founder,added: "We are trying to bring people in the US closer to those in Asia as we all are part of the same family."

"We are delighted at the support of Ethos. This donation is a powerful example of a business with a social mission helping to make a difference in a powerful, tangible way, said Richard Walden, President and CEO of Operation USA. "Ethos is a small company but they will have a big impact with this enormous contribution that will bring clean drinking water to those people who desperately need it in Southeast Asia."

Ethos also is raising funds through the website of its non-profit arm, Ethos International (www.ethosinternational.org). Donations have been made via the Internet and personal checks by private individuals, businesses and foundations, all of whom have stepped forward to contribute to the massive effort to bring clean water to the region. The Ethos International website will continue to direct donations made online toward tsunami relief efforts through February 28, 2005.

Apart from its relief efforts after the tsunami, Ethos(TM) already is making an impact around the world. The company currently is funding humanitarian water projects in Bangladesh, the Congo, Ethiopia, Honduras and India, serving communities in need and saving lives in the process. In these countries, Ethos collaborates with well-established international
organizations including CARE, WaterAid and WaterPartners International, to bring clean water to towns and villages in need of drinking water and sanitation systems.
