HUNTSVILLE, AL - Intergraph Corporation has awarded an Educational Program Grant valued at more than $950,000 to the University of Houston - Downtown. The grant includes SmartPlant® 3D, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Review, SmartPlant P&ID and Plant Design System (PDS®) software. The UHD Department of Engineering Technology will use the software in its accredited technology degree programs, including Control and Instrumentation Electronics Design, Process Piping Design and Structural Analysis and Design. UHD is a longtime user of PDS in its engineering degree programs.

Prof. Nuggenhalil Nandagopal of the UHD Department of Engineering Technology, said, "Through its Educational Grant Program, Intergraph has made a significant contribution towards producing a well-educated work force. We are delighted and privileged to be a part of this program which has enabled us to incorporate state-of the-art design and engineering tools into our curriculum. The Intergraph program enhances the quality of our curriculum and attracts more students into our degree programs."
