CHICAGO - Employees of Chicago-based Hub International Limited (NYSE:HBG)(TSX:HBG), and its regional hubs across the United States and Canada have raised more than $100,000 through payroll deductions and innovative fundraisers for the American and Canadian Red Cross tsunami relief funds. Martin P. Hughes, chairman and chief executive officer of the insurance brokerage firm, announced that the company is contributing an additional $10,000. The funds will be split between the American and Canadian Red Cross. Today, the U.S. portion of $52,218.63 will be delivered to the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago.

In addition to voluntary payroll deductions, employees developed inventive ways to raise extra funds for the relief effort. For example, Hub International Illinois and the corporate office of Hub held a silent auction of donated items for employees. This personal outreach effort alone successfully generated close to $5,000.

"In an organization where offering assurance, unexpected disaster relief and financial coverage for families and assets is part of our everyday expertise it was only natural that all of us would pull together and help," explained Hughes. "At Hub, we take our social, moral and community responsibility seriously, and I'm very proud of this fundraising effort."
