FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Regenerated Resources LLC (Framingham, MA), makers of Organic-Gro all natural fertilizer, announced it has joined forces with poultry-industry leaders Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN) Springdale, AR, and Simmons Foods (Siloam Springs, AR) to convert tons of poultry litter into environmentally-preferred consumer and commercial fertilizer products.

Organic-Gro's patented manufacturing process provides a sustainable use for poultry litter, finding a unique way to make a locally-available raw fertilizer into a user-friendly consumer product which can be used in any climate. Organic-Gro offers an all natural alternative to the synthetic chemical fertilizers often used on private and public lawns, which can carry a host of use restrictions.

As Organic-Gro CEO Rich Aleo explains, "We see our products as catalysts for change as consumers seek environmentally balanced solutions in all aspects of their lives. Organic-Gro products are user-friendly and provide a natural nutrient supplement to lawns, gardens, trees and plants. They simplify lawn and garden care with fewer applications required during the year."

Along with Regenerated Resources, both Tyson and Simmons consider good stewardship of the land and the natural environment to be among their core values. Both actively promote sustainable food production techniques and both see their relationship with Organic-Gro as a natural fit.

"Poultry litter has been used as a fertilizer in agriculture for decades since it contains organic nutrients that are beneficial for crops and forage," John Tyson, chairman and chief executive officer of Tyson Foods, said. "This new relationship provides another outlet for these important nutrients, which are environmentally safe when properly applied."

"This project not only makes sense from a business standpoint, it also demonstrates our commitment to environmental stewardship," said Mark Simmons, chairman of Simmons Foods. "It's another way we can add value to one of the byproducts of our business, while reducing excess litter supplies that cannot be land applied locally."

Regenerated Resources LLC is the life's work of third-generation Arkansas poultry farmer Buddy Black. The company is currently tooling its state-of-the-art production facility with high-speed, high-process control and close-tolerance technology to permit the processing of 60,000 tons of Organic-Gro fertilizers annually.

Organic-Gro products will be available nationally at Lowe's. Organic-Gro products will also be available at Do-It-Best Hardware, Commerce Corporation (serving nursery and landscaping pros), as well as through wholesale distribution to the golf and government segments.
