Layton, Utah - FYVE STAR, Inc.®, a woman-owned, Layton based business received the Div50 recognition from DiversityBusiness.com. FYVE STAR, Inc.® received this award for being one of the top 50 small businesses in Utah and one of the top businesses in the nation.

Owned and operated by Celeste Gleave*, FYVE STAR, Inc.® was selected from over 500,000 eligible businesses in the United States. Recipients are chosen based on annual revenues ranging from $750,000 - $10,000,000, economic impact and those who generate wealth for their communities.

The companies listed on the Div50 represent Utah's top multicultural earners and challenge the long-held notion that a diversity-owned business, a Woman-Owned Business or a Small Business is insignificant. Major corporations wishing to increase spending with small businesses seek after Div50 members.

"I have always felt Utah is a fabulous place to own a business," comments President / CEO Celeste Gleave*. "By working closely with the SBA, the Women's Business Resource Center and other organizations it has helped me stay in a "tight loop" that also allows me time and opportunities to give back to other businesses trying to get started. That has been a rewarding experience in itself."

Recipients of the distinguished award will be honored at the 6th annual DiversityBusiness.com Multicultural Awards Ceremony and Forum on March 29 -31, 2006 at the MGM Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the only national event that brings together the nation's top entrepreneurs and their corporate partners.

FYVE STAR, Inc.®, has also been recognized as one of the Top 5 Woman-Owned Businesses and Top 10 Diversity Owned Businesses in the state of Utah by DiversityBusiness.com.

The Impact of Small Business
Major corporations wishing to increase market share realize it is no longer just "the right thing" to do business with small businesses. Affected by recent economic and demographic trends and changes, corporations throughout the country have recognized that buying products and services from small companies positively impacts their business.

"Small businesses are a growing force in the U.S. economy, and a force to be reckoned with," said Kenton Clarke, CEO of Computer Consulting Associates International, the company that built DiversityBusiness.com. "It's no longer only about the Fortune 1000. This is a whole business segment that can carry its own, that provides jobs, products and services, and generates wealth for their communities. These are the new leaders in American business."

The Div50
The Div50 is a classification that represents the top 50 small businesses in Utah in sectors such as technology, manufacturing, food service and professional services. Large organizational buyers throughout the country that do business with small businesses use the list. The Div50 is produced annually by DiversityBusiness.com, the nation's leading multicultural B2B Internet portal that links large organizational buyers to small businesses offering various products and services.

"The Div50 companies are the heroes of small businesses in Utah," said Kenton Clarke. "While Fortune magazine lists the best companies for minorities to work for, we list the top small businesses. These are the people that have conquered the hurdles and made the sacrifices, building and strengthening their communities, providing jobs and helping to keep the fabric of the U.S. economy together."
