USA Cares Awarded TRIAD Grant Of $300,000 From Permian Basin Area Foundation

MIDLAND, TX "“ June 12, 2007 - USA Cares, (www.usacares.us) a worldwide charitable organization whose mission is to support and assist military service members across the nation was given a grant to continue its charitable work in west Texas. Funds from this specific grant will be focused to assist service members from the West Texas area.

The Permian Basin Foundation, (www.pbaf.org) was awarded a $5 million grant from the Iraq-Afghanistan Deployment Impact Fund of the California Community Foundation, will expand assistance to military personnel and their families through a $300,000 grant to USA Cares and its existing housing programs. Funds from this specific grant will be focused directly in the Permian Basin area of Texas covering area codes 806,325,432 and 915.

"Although USA Cares' mission is worldwide, a significant portion of our financial assistance is given in Texas as a whole," says Hugh Dukes, Executive Director of USA Cares. "These additional funds directed toward the Permian Basin area will support our housing program, and bolster our focus on military housing needs in west Texas."

"Our Nation has been at war in Afghanistan and Iraq for the last six years, and as Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom continue, the toll on our military personnel and their families continues to grow," said Guy McCrary, president and chief executive officer of Permian Basin Area Foundation. "Resources from the TRIAD Fund are intended to reduce the burden on these Americans who have made so many sacrifices."

The USA Cares mission permits assistance with several quality of life issues. Food, housing, primary vehicle repair, mortgage repayment and rent are some of the types of support USA Cares is known for. USA Cares also partners with additional charities to help coordinate support for troops and families in need. Applications are accepted 24 hours a day at www.usacares.us.
