CAMBRIDGE, MA- June 05, 2007-Elevate Destinations, a leading sustainable travel company, has announced its schedule of Fall and Winter tours and retreats for luxury-oriented travelers seeking once-in-a-lifetime vacations. Each itinerary is designed to help guests gain a better understanding of the environmental, socio-cultural and economic needs of the places they visit. Elevate Destinations donates a portion of its tour revenues to local charities.

Elevate Destinations Fall and Winter trips include adventures to Mozambique, Southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia), India, Myanmar (Burma) and Tunisia:

Mozambique: Quirimbas Escape, 9 days, September 22-30, 2007, $5,200pp. The focus of this adventure is the Quirimbas National Park in Northern Mozambique where guests will be able to explore this tropical paradise-from deserted, powder-white beaches to breath-taking coral reefs. Also featured is a day visit to Ibo Island, a United Nations World Heritage site rich in culture and history. Additionally, Elevation Destinations will donate a portion of tour revenues to local charities selected by each guest.

Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia: Journey through Sacred Places, 16 days, November 3-18, 2007, $4,500pp. A place of extraordinary beauty, this Southeast Asian tour is designed to connect guests with local people and share spiritual and cultural traditions. Guests will visit temples, pay respect to elephants, learn about textiles, cruise down the Mekong, visit the former Laotian royal capital of Luang Prabang, a United Nations World Heritage site, and explore the magnificent temples of Angkor in Cambodia. Elevate Destinations will also donate a portion of tour revenues to the Language Project, which sets up small reading libraries for the novices and monks in residence at temples in Luang Prabang. India: A Private Retreat, 10 Days, December 1-10, 2007 and January 7-17, 2008, $5,500pp. The focus of this retreat is Shahpura Bagh, a place of quiet and sublime beauty where guests are at leisure to paint or sketch, write poetry, dance, play music, do yoga, meditate and explore local villages. To preserve the quality of the retreat, reservations are limited to 6-8 guests. Burma: A Journey into Myanmar, 16 days, February 2-17, 2008, $5,000pp. One of Southeast Asia’s largest and most diverse countries, Myanmar remains one of the most mysterious and undiscovered destinations in the world. A land of breath-taking beauty and charm, Elevate Destinations takes guests on an extraordinary journey to a country rich in culture and with a glorious heritage that spans more than 2,000 years. Among the trip highlights: the Panditarama Monastery and Mediation Centre, the Shwendeagon Pagoda, Inle Lake with its monasteries on stilts, an Amara Irrawaddy River Cruise, Bagan and its many temples and shrines, and the former royal capital of Mandalay. There will also be a stop at The Phanung Daw Oo School in Mandalay which serves poor and orphaned children in the community. Elevate Destinations will donate a portion of revenues to this school, http://www.freewebs.com/pdom/about.htm.

Tunisia: Desert Wisdom--A Bedouin Journey into the Sahara, 15 days, March 15-29, $3,500pp. Led by Bedouin guides, guests travel by camel caravan into the Sahara for a truly transformative experience. Outwardly, this journey is designed to unlock the mysteries of this great desert. Inwardly, there will be time devoted to learning meditation techniques, connecting with ones core self and the greater universe, and gaining a better understanding of nomadic Bedouin culture. Guests will also have an option to stay alone in the heart of the desert for up to two nights.

Elevate Destinations also offers a 7-day "Ultimate Renewal in Brazil" retreat with customized weekly departures starting at $3,500pp. The focus of the retreat is the colonial town of Paraty, a favorite destination for both Brazilians and foreign tourists who want to relax on one of its many beaches; sail, snorkel and surf off its coast; hike in the near-by rainforest; and simply indulge in a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. In keeping with its sustainable mission, Elevate Destinations donates a portion of the trip revenues to Survival, an organization that supports the native Guarani Indian Tribe in its struggle to restore their land, http://www.survival-international.org/tribes.php?tribe_id=50.
