DERBYSHIRE - August 27, 2007 - Derbyshire-based t-mac Technologies Ltd has secured a contract worth over £0.75 million to supply its energy metering and management system to one of the UK's leading banks.

The largest single order since t-mac Technologies began trading in October 2004 sees the banking giant snap up 700 of the company's devices for its high street branches across the UK.

The t-mac system will help the bank reduce its carbon footprint by identifying energy wastage in each of its branches. By monitoring and metering energy consumption, as well as controlling the main activity areas - boilers and lighting, t-mac provides instant live and online reports of the bank's energy efficiency rating.

The deal has already resulted in an additional seven jobs at t-mac Technologies' design and manufacturing partner FAW Electronics. Business Development Director Lisa Wilkinson said: "This is the largest single-order t-mac Technologies has secured since it started trading three years ago. It is great news for our business, our partner company FAW Electronics, and for the local economy.

"Big businesses are increasingly concerned about environmental issues, as this order demonstrates. Where our t-mac system is favoured over other market-place solutions is that it offers more than just kWh metering of a building's energy consumption. t-mac provides remote metering of the main utilities as well as extensive sub-metering of a site's individual activity areas and high energy-use equipment. But metering is only one part of energy management, therefore t-mac monitors and controls building conditions and equipment use ultimately resulting in 'peak' energy performance per site.

"t-mac will enable the bank to monitor energy use at each of its UK branches from one central portal accessed via the Internet. This will mean that facilities managers can meter and analyse energy use at the 'click' of a mouse, turn equipment on or off as necessary to reduce consumption, and ultimately showcase the bank’s energy reduction and ratings, according to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive."

t-mac works by gathering energy consumption data and equipment/building performance data highlighting inefficiencies and hence waste. Transmitting data off-site at regular intervals, over wireless GPRS to a central server, t-mac enables the user to log-in via the Internet to a single domain and access single or multi-site energy information on a single web-portal.

Via its online software t-mac enables business to create a series of energy reports which provide evidence of efficient energy performance and be used to meet government targets, including the EU Energy Performance of Building Directive, Energy Certification, the Carbon Reduction requirement and also assist with showcasing in accordance with a company's ISO14001 standard.

Another benefit of online software packages is that changes in government legislation is updated by the team at t-mac Technologies to ensure its energy management, analysis and showcasing software helps business to consistently comply. With this, t-mac can offer live and online energy ratings in accordance with the requirements of the 'Display Energy Certification' (DEC).
