Ethisphere Council to Offer Training on Starting CSR Programs

PHOENIX, AZ - May 21, 2007 "“ Ethisphere Council, a group dedicated to the research, creation, and sharing of best practices in ethics, compliance, and corporate governance, will be hosting an interactive online training seminar on starting a Business/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program within a company.

The training seminar will take place on Thursday, May 24 at 10 a.m. PST/1 pm EDT and will be facilitated by Liz Reichert, Vice President of Government Relations for BP and Krista Hendry of Fund for Peace's Business Roundtable.

Corporate Social Responsibility is an obligation to consider the interests of customers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment in all aspects of a company's operations. The Ethisphere Council advocates that ethical business practices are important for companies of any size to drive continued success within the company and the communities in which they operate.

In addition to explaining the "nuts and bolts" of a CSR program, The Ethisphere Council's tutorial will define the benefits and drawbacks of CSR. Other topics in the interactive discussion will include making the business case of a CSR program, and auditing and reporting the results of a CSR program, including to ethical investors who are looking to measure the company's CSR.

The cost of the online seminar is free for Ethisphere Council Members and $475 for non-members. Participants in the event will receive valuable downloads as well as an individual one-hour consultation with an Ethisphere Council consultant.
