CHICAGO,IL. - September 3, 2008 - With twenty days to go, top companies are now preparing to share their climate strategies at the third annual Corporate Climate Response event in Chicago on September 22-23.

"It is a privilege to address the Corporate Climate Response conference here in Chicago "“ Exelon's hometown," says Ruth Ann Gillis, Executive Vice President of Exelon and a keynote speaker at Corporate Climate Response. "The event offers a forum for corporate leaders to exchange ideas on how companies can best address the issues surrounding global warming. I hope Exelon's aggressive plan to eliminate the equivalent of our current annual carbon footprint by 2020 will inspire other companies to take action as well."

Senior sustainability experts from IBM, Xerox, Alcoa, National Grid, Coca-Cola Enterprises, DuPont, Stonyfield Farms, News Corporation, adidas, Pepsi, Caterpillar, and more are confirmed to present case studies on their company’s climate reduction strategies at this premier networking event for environmental management, sustainability and CSR professionals.

Highlights of this year's program include a keynote presentation from John Wells, CEO of Interface Americas, who is discussing his company's goal to use 100% renewable energy sources. Burt's Bees CEO John Replogle is also speaking at this event and will discuss the complexities of building a sustainable supply chain. The company recently announced its goal to reduce its US Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 35 percent per dollar sales from 2006 to 2011.

Other highlights include an extended "Green Leaders Working Lunch" where top climate change experts will be available to answer delegates’ most pressing questions on climate policy and corporate response. Green Leaders include representatives from Kimberly-Clark, Motorola, Trucost, Clean Air "“ Cool Planet, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Alliance to Save Energy and Futerra Sustainable Communications.

The event also features an intimate roundtable on the evening of September 22 where local climate expert Dr. Sarah Warren will talk with actor Nora Dunn (SNL, Pineapple Express) about how individuals can influence collective action on climate change. "When it comes to the issue of global warming, I think it is wise to shrink the problem down to a size we can contend with, rather than seeing the task as so huge that it seems impossible to turn around," Ms. Dunn says. Rob Harmon, Chief Innovation Officer at the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, will also participate in this roundtable.

Corporate Climate Response is the must-attend event for those charged with developing corporate environmental strategies and their advisers. It provides practical advice and the latest updates on how companies are responding to climate change through corporate case studies and expert panels. Topics to be covered at this event include cutting absolute carbon emissions, supply chain efficiency, the role of clean technologies, water management, carbon offsetting and engaging employees on carbon reduction.
