LOS ANGELES, CA - October 2, 2007 - EcoNouveau, a co-production spearheaded by Rob Ganger of Pollinator Media Group and Sarah Shewey of Pink Cloud Events, will feature the Spring/Summer '08 collection of the most innovative eco-fashion designers in a non-traditional runway show crafted for an audience of 1,500 international press, buyers and eco-conscious celebrities and influencers. The event premieres on October 13th at restored cathedral Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles. Alternative art and production company BOXeight is the official host of EcoNouveau.

Londoner Gary Harvey, New Yorker Bahar Shahpar, and LA local Amanda Shi (Avita) will feature innovative uses of organic and recycled materials and processes in their upcoming collections. The evening's music will be curated by Dublab with musical guests Mia Doi Todd, DJ Nobody, DJ Frosty, Daedalus, Carlos, Gaby and Andres. Attendees will experience artwork by award-winning photographer Sebastian Copeland, Seattle-based photographic artist Chris Jordan, Los Angeles underground legend Geza X, Los Angeles-based outdoor photographer Ian Shive, Brazilian graffiti artist and photographer Alexandre Orion and fashion photographer Erik Lang.

"The apparel industry significantly impacts all our lives - for example, conventionally grown cotton uses more insecticides than any other single crop. Organic cotton appears to be only part of the solution while other fibers like bamboo and hemp have their own production impacts. It's quite a learning curve" said Rob Ganger, founder of newly formed Pollinator Media Group and Executive producer of EcoNouveau. "Whether we collectively call it 'sustainable', 'green' or 'eco' fashion, it is very important for designers to utilize recycled, repurposed, and organic materials wherever possible in their entire product lines and for we who purchase the apparel to become more educated on the impact of our choices"

"EcoNouveau aims to promote concepts like 'cradle to cradle' and 'biomimicry' to industry and consumers, and to showcase the modern 'green' life as stylish, accessible and intelligent," continued Sarah Shewey, founder of Pink Cloud Events and co-producer of EcoNouveau.

As a leading brand strategist and the former Creative Director of Levi's Europe, Harvey's fashion credentials include work with Adidas, Stussy, Junya Watanabe and Vivienne Westwood. ABOUT BAHAR SHAHPAR

Brooklyn-based Bahar Shahpar is a self-taught designer with a diverse creative background in multimedia event production, fashion, and publishing. Previously, she owned an art gallery and designed custom accessories in London and New York. In 2005, after extensive research on the history of American agricultural systems and the textile industry, she debuted her womenswear line, agricult, inspired by the American frontier and created using only sustainable materials.

Two years ago, Bahar launched her eponymous label, focusing on a more modern, less structured form while still drawing from vintage tailoring and an Edwardian aesthetic. Currently about to launch her third collection for S/S 2008, she also is co-owner of The Four Hundred, a new sales showroom and brand development agency focusing on high-end, fashion-forward sustainable design companies.

ABOUT AMANDA SHI / AVITA

Amanda Shi is a trailblazing designer who launched AVITA in 2003 to create glamorous fashion that uses sustainable materials as a way of maintaining a respect for the environment. Avita's success was immediate as buyers, fashion industry insiders and shoppers were equally captivated by the collection's progressive style, luxury and inimitable glamour. Her main source of inspiration remains nature itself, drawing on its rich palette for colors and materials.

Amanda's fashion sensibility has made Avita a consistent bestseller while she continues to address the pressing issue of environmental consciousness. The demand for the line has increased so dramatically from the first collection that Amanda opened Avita's first flagship store - Avita Co-Op - in West Hollywood, CA.
