October 9, 2007 - BT Conferencing and WebEx Communications, now a part of Cisco, are jointly hosting an exclusive audio and web conference on Thursday October 25th examining how the use of collaborative technologies can reduce carbon emissions created by businesses.

This webinar is jointly hosted by BT Conferencing and Webex Communications and will focus on the key Corporate Social Responsibility issues organizations are facing today and how technology can help drive an organization to improve its environmental objectives.

The event will be focussed on executives responsible for Environmental, CSR, Energy, Sustainability and IT activities who will be looking for initiatives that they can use to measure the reduction they have made in Co2 emissions.

Webinar attendees will hear submissions from:

Molly Webb, Corporate Engagement Manager, The Climate Group on "The role of ICT in a low-carbon economy" - Beyond limiting its own direct energy consumption, the ICT sector can play a critical role in enabling the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and contributing to climate change solutions.

Kevin Moss, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, BT Americas, will speak on "Doing business in a carbon constrained economy" - Examples of how enlightened companies are using ICT technologies to run their business process in more energy efficient ways and some straightforward approaches to looking for similar opportunities in your own organization.

Jack Blaeser, General Manager, BT Conferencing America will discuss "How cost effective communications technology can have a positive environmental impact" - Practical examples on how BT Conferencing can work with your organization to measure the reduction in Co2 emissions by effective use of conferencing services.

To mark the event, BT Conferencing and WebEx Communications, in conjunction with Carbonfund.org, will plant a tree for every attendee to offset the effects of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. In addition, each attendee will receive a green certificate calculating their carbon footprint highlighting what CO2 they will have saved rather than replacing a face-to-face meeting in Boston, MA.
